Default Don't know the specifics of how each work but what I can tell you from owned and driven

both at the track...
My A4 seems much smoother than the TT at its limits (yeah, I know this is a TT board, I'll put on my flame suit). Two times this past season the TT wasn't ready for the track and I dusted the cobwebs off the B5 A4 (Chip, exhaust, suspension and A8 rotors), wow is it easy, if underpowered, to drive. The TT is just twitchier. I'm not smart enough to know if that's the additional power, the squared off wheel base, or the haldex/torsen debate; but I do know the old A4 is only 4-5 seconds a lap slower than the TT with about 50 less hp on Autobahn's full track, about 3.7 miles.
