Default Husco armrest installation comments (long)

WHEW! Well the installation instructions say "about 45 minutes" . Howard who helped design this puppy and tested the prototype indicated "almost three hours". It took me slightly over three hours. Howard had indicated that it would probably have taken him less time had he just removed the center console.... well I tried to do that, no way, not now, not ever. There is just a lot of stuff going on under that console... so I would suggest that you follow Howard's method of just removing the existing cup holders to get at the two screws holding the whole thing on and the lift gently on the rear of the console to allow for placement of the brackets inside. The major mistake that I made was to attempt to situate the armrest too far to the rear and as I result had to redo and wound up with extra holes in the console. That of no great consequence because the seats are always all the way back. The forward postion will be great for long drives, like my romp to Anchorage tomorrow, the back position, may, just may get in the way now and then around town when one is shifting a lot... the metal brackets hardly match the perfection of the aluminium in the TT, but again this is my daily driver and I will sacrifice some of the appearance for the comfort.. I am pleased with it, now that it is installed.

Default No, none at all... well I guess if...

one had the coffee cup holder in the far out position and a long cup in there and then one yanked up quickly on the parking brake, well then maybe, but not with normal use.

Is the armrest color grey to match your aviator or is it darker?

Default Thanks...

I've been thinking the armrest would be a nice addition. But I hardly ever leave the TT without the brake on. Paranoi, I guess. Armrest always looked like it would be in the way.
Thanks.
