Default HVAC Coolant temp check question

So I'm checking the temperature for fun on my new tt and wondering what this function actually checks:

On a cold morning, not garaged, just freezing weather, at first start up, the HVAC display will show 30 degrees Celcius - when I know the engine/coolant is all at 0 Celcius.

What does this function actually measure? Or is this just a case of Audi putting in a little fuzzy factor?

Default Probably just the low end of the scale since once warmed and running it will never be below that.

It's either that or your car wants you to move to a warmer climate.

check block 49. 51 is a learned value. I think I've seen my 49 as low as 14, maybe even lower.

Default where is a reference to these blocks? the list i've printed appears not to be TT specific

and I can't quite find it in my Bentley. My listing of HVAC readout blocks doesn't indicate block 49 as temp-related. But whatever it's measuring, I have noticed it much more responsive than block 51, which will rise until it hits 90c and stay there pretty much without budging.

TIA

49 is the actual engine temp. 51 reads the teamp at the gauge.
