Default Hypothesis: What if the clusters really aren't faulty?

What if it's something in the electrical system which manifests itself as a failed cluster? It would explain why some people's clusters fail repeatedly while some never fail. It would also mean AoA is telling the truth when they say there is not a problem with the cluster...

Default There is something very wrong with the Clusters. Mine went into the......

immobilize mode and I couldn't start the car. I had to have it towed to the dealership. Of course, I also had the dancing instruments. Change the Cluster and everything is fine.
It's the Clusters!

How common is this failure by the way and does it occur in all of the TT's or just in specific models? Also, is their a mileage range in which this most frequently occurs?

Default Interesting.....BUT -

If the problem always manifests itself within the cluster, then the cluster is still the problem. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck.....

I actually ordered duck recently at a restaurant. It was one of the best meals I've ever had! It was REALLY good!

A voltage problem could cause all those failures and more.

Default Correct, but the cluster may be only ONE of the weak links in the system...

What about the windows rolling up and then down, the radio coming on and never going off, the coil packs, the MAF...

BTW, be sure and try Dim Sum if you're getting into duck. Hi, Bryan!

It seems pretty random as far as I can tell.

Default I think I know what you're getting at....

I've developed a theory of my own now. The cluster is within the car. If there's another problem somewhere that's making the cluster go wacky...that also is within the car somewhere. Therefore, it's the car :-P
