i am also extremely waterlogged because i ran out to my car in heavy rain to put the windows up and the umbrella i was carrying wasn't quite enough !

dates the baby boon beginning in 1946 and going until the birth rate dipped to pre-1946 levels again, which happened in 1964. The 1946 to 1964 period is the one with the upward bulge in the birthrate and is thus the baby boom.
BTW, the peak year for birthrate in the US was 1957, the year I was born. So if that is the PEAK, then how can it not be the main boom?
