Default I couldn't wait....I didn't want to crawl on my back on the garage floor. I visited my local muffler

shop this afternoon.

All I can say to MichaelTT and OcTTober is ...

RUN!, don't walk to get together to get your Forge-Milltek system installed. Oh my god, it's a new car!

It revs much easier. First gear has absolutely no hesitations now. 3rd gear is a total trip! This thing rev's *much* easier from 4500 on up. I didn't think I'd notice that much of a difference, but WOW!

Details of the install.

I went to "Bubba and sons". I wish I had a video camera to capture their sounds, "Looky here", "Gosh, sure is pretty".
OK, ate a bit of crow here. I really wanted to do this myself, but I'm glad I took it to these guys. It took them just under 40 minutes, and cost me just $50.00.
I really didn't want to be crawling on the garage floor, under a set of jack stands to do this.
The OEM system came off in a snap. Really surprised at the ease of how they got it off. He used a special tool to release the 'donut's. One application of the impact wrench, and a good tug, and the whole unit came right off.

(I took pictures of the OEM unit, but you don't want to see that.)

The resonator section went on very easily.

Putting on the 2 sets of clamps here.

<img src="http://www.mtn.org/~jbipes/jpgs/fmexhaust02.jpg">

He had trouble with this clamp. There were just enuf threads to get the clamp secured, and then to force it down onto the adapter.
He had to work on it for like 5 min. to get it into place. He had to spread a few of the tabs on the slotted part of the pipe and adapter, to fit it easily.

<img src="http://www.mtn.org/~jbipes/jpgs/fmexhaust7.jpg">

Clamps in place.

Initial placement of the exhaust.

<img src="http://www.mtn.org/~jbipes/jpgs/fmexhaust11.jpg">

I got 2 adapters, one was loosely fitted on to the end of the exhaust, and the other was in the packing material. Each came with a clamp. We discovered that the second adapter and clamp were not needed. In fact, it didn't fit the pipe diameters here at all. The muffler section simply slipped over the pipe coming out here.

<img src="http://www.mtn.org/~jbipes/jpgs/fmexhaust12.jpg">

The bolt for the exhaust hanger in this area was difficult to install. Not a lot of room to work the wrench. He finally had to use a ratcheting-box-end wrench.

Making adjustments

<img src="http://www.mtn.org/~jbipes/jpgs/fmexhaust16.jpg">

All tightened and ready to go!
<img src="http://www.mtn.org/~jbipes/jpgs/fmexhaust17.jpg">

I was a bit concerned about these guys at first. I almost drove out, but they ended up doing a good job. The guy checked his work at least twice, at every connection, and really tightened down the clamps. I was allowed into the area to take pics, and also to check the install. It helped that I made good contact with these guys, and worked with them.

This system is very nicely designed and fits very well. I was really impressed at how easily it all went together.

This car is now even MORE FUN to drive, if you can believe it!
This system is great!
I can heartily recommend it.
I don't know how this compares to other systems, and this is my first experience with this type of after-market product, but it's a winner for me.

Thanks again to Pete and Stratmosphere for this!

When I clean the car, I'll show some really good shots of the rear.

Default Awesome!!!!!!!...This is the exhaust for me but I'm very picky; Can the silk screen logo on the tips

that says 'Forge' be removed? Rubbed off? Polished off? I want 'complete' OEM appearance. Say the word and I'll order!

Can't wait for two pipes/no spoiler...I'll fool a few at least!

I don't know. They are *very* discrete, very subtle. If you tried some type of remover, I guess.

Jeff, how does the exhaust note of the Forge compare to stock?

Default BTW- The sound is deeper, not harsh, not much louder, if at all. I had the window down, and...UPDATE

really didn't notice it being *that much* louder.
It has a very nice mellow sound at idle, much better than OEM.

I have not really been able to compare it at highway speeds, or under real hard acceleration.
I'll let you all know tomorrow.
