Default i found this interesting...curb weight A4 1.8TQ vs 225 TTC

curb weight:

A4 1.8T Quattro, manual = 3241 lbs
225 TTC Quattro, manual = 3274 lbs
A4 2.8 Quattro, manual = 3384 lbs
S4 Quattro, manual = 3593 lbs

i still can't believe the A4 1.8TQ is lighter than my TT!

just an interesting fact at 1am in the morning

Default I've not weighed my cars

But my 225TTR gets better milage (city and highway) than my A4 Avant. Perhaps (hopefully) the A4 engine will break in further (its nearly 3k miles) but I believe the behavior of the AWD has something to do with it...

my $.02

Dimples or not, all that brushed aluminum makes the TT heavier

Default That's it, I'm putting my car on a diet!

I still say, it would be nice to a have the shipping weight for all of the parts in the car! That way, we could go through and find the key places for weight saving after market parts...

Of course, that was before the holidays. The cars have probably all gained weight now

Default What car company do you know of . . .

that publishes all of the weights of each of the various pieces of their cars?

We have done a pretty good job of get weights for quite a few parts of the TT.
