Default I hate defensive driving!!!

I was waiting at a red light to make a right turn at a small intersection... when it turned green I started to turn right and this guy coming from the opposite direction turning left and driving way to fast almost hits me. I took the turn sharper to avoid him and guess what... I hit the curb. I've never done that before in my life and now I have unbelievable curb rash on one wheel. All 4 fat 5's were PERFECT before last night.

Can curb rash be fixed or is it not worth it?

Default I don't know about that, the fat fives are polished, anodized, and clear coated...

Its a very difficult finish to repair to original condition. You're best bet is to either find a replacement or to either re-paint or polish all of them at once.

Default I had a 3" chunk taken out of one of mine, and I can't see any evidence today. A good

shop can repair it (if it isn't bent). You necessarily can't see if it is bent, they will spin it and measure it on a machine.

Default hmm.. Good point. How much did they charge?

I'm trying to figure if it's worth it. I really like the fat 5's but I was thinking about going aftermarket anyhow and keeping these as my winter wheels or selling them.

I can pick up a new wheel for $250 and from what i have found so far it will cost me like $150 to get it repaired.

I'm bummed!

I think mine was around $150 as well, which included new clearcoat over the whole wheel.

Default Skip the repair. Get a wheel on eBay.

Make sure the $250 wheel isn't itself repaired.

Default I'm going to ask my shop and see if they know someone...

I'm still thinking it might not be worth it. We'll see. I'm just upset that it even happened.
