Default if its a bad quattro control unit then wouldnt all 4 wheels not spin cause they did up in the air??

when we had it on teh lift and put car in gear to listen fo rsound, all 4 wheels were spinning so if quattro unit is bad then I would think that not all 4 wheels would move???

Default On a hoist in the air the wheels are not under load from the weight of the car.>>>

So, I would expect if the noise is due to the solenoid clicking in an out under load, it would not show up.

Also, if the tick is because of some other condition that occurs only when the car is on the road,no matter what the cause, it would not necessarily show up when the car is run on a hoist.

Default is there a fuse or relay I can pull to test if it is actually coming from this solenoid..>>

like pull the fuse or relay then drive around and listen...if I hear nothing then I can say that would be the cause of the tick??

Nope.... It only happens when moving, but does not seem clocked to the wheel rotation...

Default i had a similar problem, turned out that one of the nuts from the valve stem came undone and was

making a ticking noise inside the wheel, sometimes the problem lies in the most unusual of places..

Default Pulling fuse 31 will cut power to the Haldex controller....

I'm not sure it will help you diagnose anything wrong with the Haldex unit though.

Default Actually, I know I have some loose bits on one of my tires... That could be it if it sometimes

drops and hits the metal of the rim.
