The Sagra del Tordo in Montalcino, is a festival in which the specialty, aside from the
Brunello di Montalcino wine, is grilled thrushes. They are served by the thousands. Tasty little buggers too.

Ever had a swallow's nest soup? Its really quite barbaric, but tasty, they just "evict" (quote there
used to imply that "evict" is being used in an ironic, and even euphemistic way, Bad Dave) the poor little bastards and make soup from the nest, the primary binder (and flavor enhancer) of which is, that's right you guessed it - Swallow Spit!!!
