I hope none of you need a windshield soon...

Mine was hit by a flying rock kicked up by a UPS truck. UPS didn't cover it, as it was an "Act of God" (Thanks, God).
I insisted on OEM glass, so the dealer did a parts search and found one windshield in L.A. and another in Canada. One was ordered, but arrived shattered. So the other one is now here, and is currently being installed. Sounds as if it will be weeks before new windshields arrive, however.

some large. Good thing I have stongard, or else my paint would be trashed too. Seems like the TT windshield is a rock magnet... must be the height its sits (low and in a good line from truck tires.)

I had my dealer replace mine two weeks ago. Took 2 days to get the correct windshield and two days to install. Was done under Warranty because they could find no evidence of a stone hit or other "Act of God" source for the crack. They called it a stress crack and covered the replacement.

The insurance company paid all but $100 and the order went through a different dealer that they had an agreement with.

Yes, but the reason he was able to get them so quickly is because there were windshields in Audi's warehouses. As of now, there are apparently none in the U.S. or Canada, and it will supposedly take a month or two before more arrive from Germany. Apparently, I got the last one.

It does seem as if the TT windshield has a certain affinity for flying rocks. A rather nasty one left a noticeable gouge on the passenger side of my windshield. The repair, unfortunately, has proven unsuccessful given the size of the damage and the cold temperatures here.
One shop mentioned that it would take two days to replace the windshield. Any thoughts on this? It seems a bit long (and expensive after factoring in a car rental). Thanks.
