You should try "driving" in Santa Cruz sometimes
Next time I see a turn signal-less, dented, smoke-belching 1968 VW bus with a "Save the Earth" bumper sticker or similar nonsense, I swear I'll go nutty.
Usually these are the vehicles that wait 6-8 seconds after the light turns green to proceed.

Dunno about that.... ever driven in Silicon Valley?? with the huge influx of "recent immigrants"...
driving is a test of nerves.... need to be on constant guard as you never know when that jackass in front, to the left, or to the right wants to be where you are!!! If I wind up getting a job in the valley again, the TT stays at home and I look for a $500 beater....

My other observation is that Santa Monica ...
ranks among the Top 5 cities in California for the homeless population. I rank San Francisco first, San Diego second, S.M. third.
And yes, I lived in SF and SD.
