They also had a TT 225 there so we drove that as well. We went in wanting the Cooper S, but the TT blew it away!
And then a week later we own one!
Its not even close, the TT is so much faster.
Maybe they are talking about the 180.

Actually the Mini is for my kids. But the TT is much more of a car in every respect than a 2005 S. Although, before any mods to my 2001 225 TTR, and with a marginal MAF sensor, the Mini felt pretty competitive.

...a $6300 option that includes an uprated supercharger, modified cylinder head, exhaust, recalibrated ECU, big brakes, etc.
I don't know what kind of 0-60 it delivers, but it could come close to a stock 225, maybe.
Did they mention if it was a JCW (John Cooper Works)?

And as someone else mentioned, the Cooper takes FOREVER to build any boost at all. Even the Beetle Turbo S feels faster. Cooper might beat a stock 150HP turbo beetle.
I would say that with both cars bone stock, the cooper may handle better, but a dropped quattro TT would hang with it.
