Default I need to be convinced.....

K guys,
I'm only a signature away from purchasing a 225hp TT coupe, only thing holding me back are the many complaints about electrical, transmission, and noise problems. Is it only certain cars or is everyone expereincing these. Does the dealer take care of them or is it tons of money out of the pocket. Convince me that the Audi TT will hold up in the long run. Thanks

Default Can't otherwise Id be lying..

Ive got all the noises, clunky tranny, but no electrical problems (knock on wood).. Like you, I heard of these problems but really didn't give it a second thought.. I knew I wanted the tunability of a turbocharged engine and knew I wanted awd.. Since I didn't want a 4dr and couldn't afford a 993TT, I went TT..

Default I bought my car a year ago and it's been trouble free!

Except for the Privacy shelf rattle thing. Other than that, it's been trouble free. I have had none of the electrical nor mechanical issues discussed on this forum so far. It's been pretty reliable.

welcome to a car forum, where all the problems get discussed... makes it sound worse then it is. Great little car!

Default Bugs are being worked out.......

A lot of the problems that have been documented have been worked out in the 2002 model. Just like any new model, as the years pass, the problems get fixed via redesign or re-engineering.

The Tranny problems relate to the 180 FWD only (I think). My 225Q has been fine for the first 3000 miles.

Go ahead and buy it. You will love it and you will have fun with it. But, keep in mind that, just like any car, it could have a few problems (just ask some of the new BMW 7 series owners!!!)

Default I think you missed kirby's point

People don't go to this board ONLY for problems, but if a person has a problem they will likely post here for information. That is, people are more prone to post about problems than about another trouble-free day in a great car.
