I need help with a legal question. When a trial is "continued" what does that mean?

Default I need help with a legal question. When a trial is "continued" what does that mean?

I am supposed to appear as a witness in a criminal trial, when I called about the time & date I was told that the case has been "continued".
My question is what does "continued" mean in this context for me as a witness?
I assume that it is reference to a continuance or postponement, but I am unsure where that leaves my responsibility.
Sorry, I know it's a stupid question but my legal experiences have not been trial based...
Thanks
Brian

I think it means essentially that it's been postponed...but I'm no lawyer.

Default I poorly phrased my question. My concern was more about if I would recieve a new subpoena or if I

needed to maintain contact with the County Attorney to determine the new trial date.

I think the court or the attorneys will notify you of the new date.

Thank you. That is about what I thought, but I appreciate the affirmation.
