Default I use the Magellan 700....very satisfied.....

I've used the 700 from coast to coast and Canada (Montreal and Southern Ontario.) It has never let me down.

Default I used to have a Garmin color screen street pilot...now have the Magellan 700...

The garmin just sits on the dash on a sandbag...when I gave it too much gas the thing would go flying. My Magellan mounts via a suction-cup arm...much much better. It holds tight and works great.

Default how well does the routing work?

how up to date are the POIs?

i love my tomtom, every bit of it, the only thing is that sometimes i dont like the route it chooses, but this seems to be for many GPS systems i have tried

the POIs are very good though

Um...what are POI's? As far as the GPS works...its flawless so far. After the NorthEast event my GF and I headed to Boston for the night. We were trying to get to the NineZero hotel in downtown Boston. The NAV worked great...took us right to the door of the hotel. One thing I love is that it comes preloaded with the entire US and Canada. No downloading or software BS...just plug and play. The only gripe I have is that it takes a few minutes to recognise where you are when you first turn the unit on. Other than that...flawless.

Default Gotcha....

The Magellan has a TON of POI's. Many more than you would ever need. Even has a selection of local wineries!!
