Not the best image, and I have my panel set to red instead of blue, but you get the idea. You'll find the specs on the head unit her e.

The volume **** and the buttons still illuminate green and blue respectively, but with the display set to red, they're hardly noticeable and definitely not annoying (the blue button illumination on my previous head unit annoyed the crap out of me).

The 8" Boston Acoustics sub was replaced by a 12" Pioneer unit, the specifics of which can be found on Pioneer's VERY slow website.

The difference in sound quality is amazing (the way the sub was set up before, it really didn't work right -- it was much easier to build an enclosure for the larger sub; odd, eh?).

There are a few things about the head unit that annoy me: It takes forever for an mp3 CD to load (over a minute, every time you power the radio on or off), but I have one of the super trick Alpine iPod adapters on order. Let's hope that it's as great as I'd like to think it's going to be.

Use of the aluminum radio cover is lost, but I'm looking into having a piece custom made to fit around the radio recess so it looks like it fits better. Current fit isn't bad -- at all, and it looks fine -- but it could be flushed in to make it look like it came that way from the factory.

I'll be fine-tuning the time-delay stuff later this week, and maybe you audiophiles can help me out even further.

Default I wasn't happy with the other, and I exhanged it for exactly what I paid...

No cash lost on that deal at all, aside from a few bucks on installation. =)

I've got several ideas floating around right now... If you have some interesting thoughts, though, I'd love to hear 'em.

Default Pictures of the HU in the car...

Apologies for the less-than-ideal lighting conditions.

Maybe an aluminum piece that replaces the door & surrounds the new units.

Default TTschwing this H/U clears the door when open but would like something to enclose the gaps around the

H/U unit...As seen below I would like something more than the black foam sides on mine if possible. Think something modshack could handle?

Default Absolutely Awesome !!!! I've got an IVA-D900 to install and got the same problem.....

Chris, I've got the Alpine IVA-D900, Nav unit, XM Radio, amp, and speakers to install. Just can't find the time.

The IVAD900 HU sticks out just a little too far to work. I have thought about having a custom piece made that will allow the unit to be recessed enough to allow the aluminum radio door to close, but still let the screen open.

If I come up with something soon I'll let you know. I want mine to be anodized flat black.

Do you know how much more recessed your unit would need to be to have the door to close?

Also, did you know that sometime soon Alpine is selling a plug and play device that will allow your iPod to work through your Alpine unit?
