With that said, I got the DG kit which came with a Behr product.

Default Stick with OEM -- it has been proven here that aftermarket thermostats do not open at the same rate

as the OEM thermostat. Many timing belt kits come with aftermarket thermostats, and when they are installed, the car runs hot.

Default Both DieselGeed and ECS used to include an aftermarket thermostat, and now BOTH have switched to

OEM only. Learn from their mistakes!

Default

yep, stick with OEM (get one at VW dealer cheaper). Others, even marked "Behr," run hotter

Default So true! I put one in from Autozone...

and it ran way too hot!

I finally switched to the one that came with my dieselgeek timing belt kit and everything is COOL once again. Well, cool enough. =)
