Default I know your on the 1.8T forum on vortex. What is your take on ATP's turbo upgrades?

Seems as though your heart is set on APR's Stage 3 kit.

Default APR vs ATP .....hhmmm, that is a good question

It comes down to a couple of things for me...

Turbo manifolds
APR is the chosen winner here, there is probably no other manifold that I would rather have than this one, this is the creme de la creme IMHO. I do not want to worry about this part as this typically is a sore spot with alot of aftermarket ones.

ATP's is not bad but as previously mentioned here, it almost appears that their 1.8T manifold is a VR6 manifold with 2 runner cut off.

Software
I currently am running APR's software and am very happy with it (plus I get $500 knocked off the Stg 3 price if I already own the software)

I do not know who is doing the software for the ATP kit, while it could be a respectable tuner, I simply do not know.

APR's kit will come with a new MAF housing, injectors, downpipe and hi-flo cat.

ATP's kit comes with injectors and downpipe (correct me if I am wrong)

APR's IMHO seems to be a little more thought out.

The price for ATP's kit with the ball bearing turbo is $3100 and APR's kit with the *extras* would cost me $3499..

I am going with the APR Kit =)

Default APR comes with these things......

APR Investment Cast Inconel Exhaust Manifold
Garrett/Allied Signal Ballistic Series Ball-Bearing Turbocharger
APR High Flow Catalytic Converter
APR Custom Cast Urethane and Silicone Intake Hoses
APR High Flow Fuel Injectors
All Associate Plumbing and Hardware

ATP comes with.......

300 HP, Upgradable to 400+ HP

T3/T4E Ceramic Ball Bearing Turbo

3" Downpipe standard

Complete bolt on kit!

Complete Kit -- $3195 (Non-ball bearing kit price - $2695)

A T3/T04 turbo has way more potential than a GT25 or a GT28. Plus, the manifold doesn't look like a VR6 manifold with 2 holes covered up. Just look at it.

<img src="http://8vturbo.com/products/images/18TStage3kit_lg.jpg">It looks pretty good to me. I know the APR has Inconel manifold, which is the best, but Billy is running 400hp on his car and I don't hear him complaining about cracked exhaust manifolds.

APR is a great product, I'm just playing devil's advocate so I can stir the pot. :-P

Default I agree, the t3/t4 is a great setup and has the potential for more HP but...

I am not looking for the most power available. I want a dependable system that will get me to around 280ish @ the wheels since I have a FWD.

The car will already be a handful, beyond the 300 mark is overkill for what I intend to use the car for....

Default I'm seriously considering the T3/T4 from ATP....

But don't want to be the first TT with it. God knows what would happen.

Default Hmm, thought the FMIC would be ready by now, have the feeling the TT is the last car

that will receive a kit since the A4 and VW products are more popular (more volume) -have you called them?
