That was a basic assumption on my part... If not, disregard everything I posted, and "Good Luck"!

mine also - which is why I didn't post on it before! ;-)

Default Correct I rewired via jumpers to line up the TDI to the OEM Factory amu harness

As for voltage, the TT voltage from the ecu is 2.5v I don't know what the TDI normal voltage is.

Default Thanks for the formula

I will be speaking with Eurospec today, but in case I try the resistor with the voltage at 2.5v do you still agree that I should start with a 3KOhm 1 watt?

Thanks

I think that's got to be the key - the signal voltage.

Default How are you measuring the resistance values - why are they variable?

As for a 1-watt resistor... If it is 700 ohms at 2.5 volts, the current is I=V/R = 1.5/700 = .0021 amps. Power is P=IV=.0021*2.5=.005 watts. In that case, you could use a VERY low power rated resistor, so a 1-watt has a factory of safety of 18600%. In other words, from what you are saying, you would be fine with a 1/8 watt (or even way lower), but there is no downside to using a higher rated 1-watt resistor.

Default The resistance values aren't variable I was providing the range...

Re: How are you measuring the resistance values - why are they variable?

the TT is pin 2+3 at 930 Ohms
the TDI is pin 1+2 at 1200 Ohms

Thanks I'll pick up a resistor and give it a try tomorrow, all tied up today.

Default That's a different question all together (different values). To convert a 1200 ohm resistance to

930 you need to put a 4133 ohm (4k would do) in parallel... Also, are you sure it is just a resistance? Is there a diode in the circuit? I think you have have a lot more going on that just the resistance value. What technology in general does the sensor use to determine the speed?

Default Updated to clarify... Got the answer...

I spoke with the head mechanic over at Overland today and he sent me the conversion sheet. It turns out that you are supposed to receive this sheet with the motor and replace the factory car sensor with the appropriate TDI sensor and swap pin 1 for pin 3. They shipped a "generic" 1.9 tdi sensor with the motor, you have to check the conversion sheet to see what you need, and then swap the pins...

My amu was a "06A-906-433C" and the conversion was supposed to be:
06A-906-433C REPLACE WITH 038-906-319 (SQUARE SHAPED PLUG); however, My 06A-906-433C does not have a square plug, it has a (D SHAPED PLUG) so per the conversion sheet I should run the 038-906-319A for (D SHAPED PLUG)

My current TDI sensor 038-907-319F has a (D SHAPED PLUG) but the part number is not on the conversion list I received from Eurospec.

After swaping pin 1 for pin 3, the car is performing much better at idle through 3700rpms. (nice I finally get some boost); however, since I have the wrong sensor I throw the implausible sensor code at 3700.

Now to get the right sensor! The funny thing is I can't find that part number anywhere "038-906-319A"
