Default A good friend of mine says the same exact thing about the M3..

I think the M3 is a sweet car but it lacks awd and is overpriced..

Yep, they're gonna feel like me soon....hyper-regulation and oversight.

Default Already a movement is afoot to prevent rendering consulting AND audit services to a client.

I kid you not. This is the biggest audit bust ever. Major company audit busts of days gone by do not involve a PIC shredding current working papers.

Default Maybe if the Big 5 didn't use Audits as loss leaders to gain entrance to

other aspects of a company's work, we'd get a real audit done by experienced auditors. Both are to blame - but this time, AA screwed up by acting as the internal auditors and external auditors - Evidently Enron contracted internal audit to AA also.

That - is nuts.

Default That is a good thing!

Are you paying 'em market or are they hoping to get other work?

I know at AA (I worked there from 80-84 in tax) there is a temptation to place your newbies on audits and even 2 or 3 yr people handling major items. Another problem is that the auditors don't want to hack off the company they are auditing so they back off being aggressive about what they consider poor or inappropriate accounting methods

Default Doubt if they were winking - they were probably fighting with the Company - you can bet that

a lot of AA auditors were not sleeping well and there was a lot of fighting inside AA itself as well as with Enron
