Default if they total my car...

What can I do about my chip?

I will be getting another TT, for sure, I just don't know about the year.

There is a hole the size of my fist in the transmission, the front side of it took 100% of the impact.

Broke the dogbone mount, my car is leaking oil now and the engine is in all cockeyed. The bodyshop owner said I could maybe start looking for a new TT, because its getting close.

This makes me SICK, but I guess that's what I have to do. I'll never find another AG/black leather TT around here, ever.

I'm concerned. I just bought new wheels and tires, and they are still perfect, what can I do to keep those if they total my car, I don't have the stock ones.

Same situation on the ECU, and my vent-mounted boost gauge.

I've never wrecked, let alone totalled a car... any input would put my mind at ease.

The grand total is looking like 10000 bucks to fix it right now.

The car will never be the same if they do fix it... UGH!

Default Just buy it back from the insurance and part out..!! >>

You should have the option to buy it back from the insurance for 1-2k i would think, and take what you want, part out the rest, and then take whats left to the junk yard...

Default I would think at least the vent gauge and other non-stock items

could be pulled unless the insurance company wants to pay you for them. Obviously the wheels and ECU would have to be replaced with something since the car had those items, even though they were not exact items. Also, so insurance companies have automatic coverage for aftermarket parts up to a certain dollar amount. I know when I had Traveller's insurance they covered up to $5000 automatically without having to purchase additional insurance. Worked out well when I crashed my A4. They even paid for the E-code Xenon's that I had and aftermarket driving lights. Anyway, point is you may want to check with insurance to see if they have any aftermarket coverage that may pay you extra for the aftermarket parts. Otherwise try to find cheap replacement parts for the ECU and wheels. On cheap wheels, put on some used tires that you can probably buy at a local tire store. You could probably find an ECU on eBay. I woudln't even worry about making sure it would match/work. They are obviously not going to start the thing in it's current condition.

Take the money and run...$500 for a new chip is a drop in the bucket.

If you have receipts for your "new" parts, the insurance company may pay for those.
