Default If you had a CPO car, would you chip the original ecu

or buy a spare and put the chip in that one just to be safe? my factory warranty has expired, so that isn't an issue..

Default if you are considering a second OEM ECU chip>>>

chip the one ya buy...the reason i would do that, is that to revert back to "stock" is usually not original programming, it is a copy, with similar programming, but not exact....

This way you would one TRUE stock ecu, and one chipped one....

Default you can go back to the dealer for a new ECU>>>

or, if you find an exact match to your model and ECU type,or buy one off of someone on the forum....they pop up from time to time....

The ECU from the dealer is not cheap...do not hold me to this, but my understanding is in the 700$ range...give or take a few $$$...

Default so, let's say that you have some huge failure...

...and you need to get the dealer to fix it (i.e. tranny or turbo). if you reset the chipped ecu and put it on stock mode, will it clear the previous boost logs. i can't imagine my dealer snooping around for others software, but if they did see high boost levels they might catch on.

Default my understanding is that it can still be seen>>>

IF they are looking for it...logs, flow rate, boost requests...will still be there....but not available, and the "stock" setting is not OEM Audi...so they can tell...like i said...IF they are looking for it..IIRC
