Default I'm getting really frustrated now with this honking noise *WAV CLIPS*

I actually went out today and recorded short wavs of the noise. 1st two files are in 1st gear. 3rd file is in 2nd gear with the convertible top down. For you guys who don't know the problem, this honking noise started the day I got my APR chip. It happens in every gear when I'm on the boost. It is LOUD. First thing I did was change the DV to a new 710N valve.... didn't work. I had my independent mechanic tighten all the hoses.... didn't work. Then I changed to a Forge DVR.... didn't work. Then I had the dealership look at the car with teh chip OFF...... they didn't find anything. Problem is that with the chip off, the sound is REALLY faint.... almost inaudible. Any suggestions guys?

http://www-scf.usc.edu/~huoh/day/honk.wav

Default Have you changed the diaphragm that comes with the DVR? Sounds like you have a rip. Personally I

would have gone with a piston style Forge 007P. This would have eliminated the guess work of if it is the diaphragm torn or something else. I don't live in CA or I'd be happy to loan you my 007P.

Default Yup, the diaphragm is perfect.... and I've used all 3 springs provided... and installed the valve

in both orientations.

Pressure test the system to check for leaks, or have the dealership do that..

Dealership won't do it because they can't hear the problem when the car is stock.

Default I'd swap out the diaphragm that is in there, put in the DV in reverse orientation and try again.

Diaphragms are free from Forge for life. That sound is exactly the sound I heard from my 710N. Once I swapped to the 007P it all went away.

Did that already. I've installed in both orientations with all springs and two diaphragms.
