Default Here's a copy of an email I sent to a couple of other forum people

Yes, there are two ways to do it, the hard way #1 and the easy way #2

1. The first time I lifted the cover to and removed the air filter. At the
back end of that cover is a rigid tube, about 2 1/2" in diameter, this
connected to a rubber tube. Within the rigid tube resides the MAF sensor.
I disconnected the electrical connection at the top of the rigid tube and
disconnected that tube from the flexible tube by loosening the hose clamp, I
then removed the sensor from inside the rigid tube. None of this very difficult, all easy to access. I then
sprayed it liberally with Heavy Duty Component Cleaner Degreaser,
non-residue. which I obtained at RadioShack. The brand on this was GC
Electronics Series II. There are many of these contact cleaners available,
but the key is the "non-residue" part since obviously residue is what we are
trying to get rid of.

The results were instant and amazing, gone was my 4000 rpm gulp.

2. I really don't think I had to do everything involved in #1 above, what I
am doing now, once a month, is simply lifting the air filter cover, removing
the filter, and with a small plastic spray tube attached to the cleaner,
hosing down the MAF sensor.... seems to work just fine and can be
accomplished in just a few minutes.

Default I kind of looks like the particles are stuck as if to a magnet. If there's

current running through this part. Maybe that's why they get dirty so fast. You know like static electricity.

Default Thanks again, ordered, Mrs Rascal is an artist who for some strange reason enjoys painting

stuff that is not normally seen, very small lichen, textures in birch bark, etc, this is a surprise, no reason gift for her. Its just about time to start talking with her about the red leather insert mod for the seats.. gotta pave the way.

Default Here's the same QX3 for $30

If the url does not work just truncate it to http://www.superpcparts.com and search for QX3.

Hope this helps.
