Default Impressions of an APR-Chipped TT

I think that this definitely merits a separate post from the previous one. First of all, I purchased an APR EMCS-enabled chip with 3 programs, "stock", "chipped", and "valet". "Chipped" mode really changes the driveability of the car. TT now has lots of torque and power in every gear. The change IMHO, is so dramatic, particularly in 3rd and 4th, that it's almost like driving a different (read: more powerful) car.
Going back to "stock" mode only confirms these impressions. In fact, once you are used to "chipped", you wonder how you were able to ever be happy with a "stock" TT!!!
Valet is also very cool. I can go 4 blocks in my neighborhood and not be able to accelerate to 40MPH! Perfect in those rare times when you are cornered into having to valet the car (know what I mean? know what I mean? Nudge Nudge... eh, Mod Squad?!?!?!)

All told, the chip is a must have. The technology is excellent. Let's just hope that the reliability follows suit. For those of you considering this move, I would still recommend a spare ECU regardless of the EMCS feature.
I will be getting one shortly, along with a VAG-COM.

I'll get all those goodies with Stage 3...so I wont be too worried about the High Buck valet trips

Default TTRay.. just did my APR last week....

You are right! The car is like a whole different car. After a while now..the chip just feels normal. Every now and again I switch back to stock to remind me of my roots.

I ordered my ECU with Stock/Chip/Fault Code Erase and Throttle body alignment.
