Info regarding retrofitting the cruise control system!

I've seen many posts regarding the cruise control retrofit (obviously from members that live in Europe, since it's standard in the US), and after a lot of search I've found out that not only is it possible to do the retrofit, but VAG has a kit which includes everything that is needed.
The kit, named 'Retrofit kit for cruise' will suit most new Audis i.e. the A3/S3/TT/A4/A6 (also the Golf Mk4 GTI and most new Seat and Skoda models), no matter if they are equipped with the 1.8T or the TDI or whatever engine available, even if they are not DBW. The local dealer, although no better than the rest of VAG dealers in my country, confirmed the wiring colours and locations on the TT as the same as the latest Golf Mk4 GTI with DBW.
There are two part numbers for this kit, depending on whether your car is DBW or not. Apparently, RHD vehicles have a different stalk switch than LHD ones, but only one retrofit kit exists. I'll give the stalk switch part numbers later on anyway just in case. Ok, the kit part numbers are as follows:
---> 1H0 998 527 for non DBW cars. Includes the genuine stalk switch for turn signals and dip beam, flasher and parking light for vehicles with cruise control system in satin black, the necessary loom and the as per Golf Mk4 installation instructions.
---> 1J0 998 527 for DBW cars. Includes the same as described above.
Stalk switch for LHD cars:
8L0 953 513 H01C
Stalk switch for RHD cars:
8L0 953 513 J01C
One of these stalk switches is included in the kit, but don't know which one. Logic says that there should not be any difference, VAG thinks otherwise. Please check with your dealer. I ordered the LHD stalk switch as well just in case...
The air bag as well as the steering wheel need to be removed to fit the stalk switch. The steering wheel has a special bolt and cowls. Then the loom goes into the intermediate junction box below the windscreen (wipers motor and cover to be removed), then a jumper lead into fuse 5 and that's it. Last but not least, dealer needs to plug in the VAG tool in order to activate the cruise control. It's very simple actually, he just types in a new code in some module and does the necessary adaptation. The procedure is described in the Bentley manual (even in the old MY2000 one) but my eyes hurt too much right now to copy the procedure! :-P If anyone needs this info you can e-mail me, but don't go taking the airbag and steering wheel off by yourselves!
I've seen it on a friend's GTI and it looks and acts as factory fit (no engine judder or anything of the sort). The local dealer, although no better than the rest of VAG dealers in my country, confirmed the wiring colours and locations as the same as the latest Golf Mk4 GTI with DBW. It's a worthwhile job IMHO. Actually, mine arrives in 10 days so I'll have more info then.
As far as the price is concerned, the local dealer sells it for about US$100 but I have found a Russian site that sells original VAG parts and has it for US$69.
Hope this helped...

...but have patience 'cause it's in Russian! I had to check every single item and check the pic on the left to see what it's all about.
