Default Insomniac's GT3 Update:

<center><img src="http://ps2media.ign.com/media/previews/image/gt36/gt_13.jpg"></center><p>
So I'm in bed (let's not go anywhere with that this early) at 3:00-ish after an awful day at work and I can't even think about sleep so I get up and start driving the addictive siren-like video game.....

I've now spent about 150,000 on mods for the S4 which is now up to 486hp with just about every piece of hardware available. I finally slapped the expensive soft racing tires on and began the European Championships. Despite all the mods, I'm not sure that the S4 is nimble enough for certain courses (Cote de Azure). Now I'm torn b/t spending another huge chunk of cash for the final turbo upgrade (which may even be counter productive) or saving up for a real gem.

Also started the lightweight series but even after bumping the Suzuki up to 100hp from 63hp and upgrading the suspension, it still lags well behind the others. Has anyone won that series yet? If so, what is the bonus car? If the bonus car is worth it, I'll stick with it, otherwise I think I'll bail and concentrate on the real cars.

Also, I'm connected via standard RCAs. Is the S-Video significantly superior? My TV is about 10 yrs old so I don't think I would benefit from component cables. Am I correct on that? Thanks.

Default I've decided to stop modding the Impreza and save for a serious racer.

I'm going to keep the Toyota Celica rally car and mod the crikes out of that for Rally racing and then I'm going to buy something tight and very fast for the road races. I've currently got about 75K in the bank for the new one and I'm going to try to win the Tahiti Maze rally with the Impreza to get enough for the new car.

Ok the prize for the lightweight is the Mini Cooper (The Old one). I won it with a Mini I bumped to like 200+ HP. I got the first mini as a prize from another race. Remember you get a bonus car for finishing each entire league. I think this is a good car. I am starting the Vitz series. Even with a 150HP car the Computer cars motor away from me like I am stopped. Man Cote d'Azur is tough. Its such a tight course, I am going to try the Old style MR2 I hopped up for the Mid Engine races. I can win there with my Mega HP Subaru but I don't think I will last for the endurance race there. I am going for the IB and IA licenses soon as I finish all the rally races.

Thanks. Didn't realize that there was a bonus for completing every series.

Default There's always a bonus for everything if you get all Gold's

So get all gold's in your license tests too, after you finish 30% of the races in all gold you get a car too, think it's a SS Camaro or something like that.

30% per division? I'm well past that and haven't gotten a bonus for it.

Default It was at the end of my eloquent post...... but, here it is w/out the GT3 content:

I'm using a 10yr old Toshiba (30") and connected via standard RCAs. I have S-Video inputs but haven't used them. Is S-Video really superior w/ the PS2? I assume that I cannot take advantage of Component Video without a newer TV. Is that true?

Default Re: RI've decided to stop modding the Impreza and save for a serious racer.

I Have S-video on a Mitsubishi 30" TV and it doesn't make a difference. When I get the WEGA TV I think it might help. I did hook it to a LCD monitor and it looked pretty good but it was only a 15" model. Just Wait until Bleem for the PS2 comes out With Bleem you can play PS games on your PC. GT1 looks fantastic through a high end video card.

I used the Impreza to win almost all the rallies so far. Fully modded its faster than almost all the full rally cars. The only course I have trouble with is tahiti maze. My car makes TOO much power, I am going to try jacking the gear ratio way up to try to tame the output in the tight corners. Remember that the Xsara Rally car prize can be used to Kick butt in the FF races, and the Focus and Escort cars are great for the American races.
