Installing stock springs with bilstein HD or Koni. Is alignment necessary?

I'm curious if I will need to have the car aligned when only replacing the shocks. I will not be changing the suspension geometry, so is there a reason why I would need an alignment?

How they remove the front struts.
Some places will lower the subframe to gain enough space to remove the passenger side strut. If they use this method an alignment is necessary.
Some places will remove the passenger side axle instead, and thus an alignment shouldn't be needed.
Others yet will ambitiously try to remove the spring from the strut while it's on the car, then remove the shock separately. This method also would not require an alignment.

Make sure that the bolts (i'd do both sides to be safe) are re-tightened with the car set at ride height. Helps to cut down any chance the bushings bind if tightened with the car in the air.
