Default Instrument cluster replacement

Had my TT's instrument cluster replaced yesterday, as the radio display in the little window had ceased functioning(they had tried replacing the radio earlier).Radio display works great now, but it says its -40 degrees outside. O well, perhaps another new cluster next week. The mechanic said Audi was changing suppliers as it was not happy with the clusters. He personally had replaced a number of them in TT's, A4's and A6's, some more than once.

Default They might check for a bad connection to the temp sensor...

I believe -40 degrees F is the minimum the temp sensor will register. My wife's A4 would show this temp every so often but we've never had it recur since they disassembled the temp sensor connector, cleaned it and reassembled it with dielectric grease...
