Insurance Frustration in MA
I just got my insurance rates for next year...
I have 100k/300k for injury, 100k for property damage, a $500 deductible for comprehensive, and a $1,000 deductible for collision. My insurance last year was about $1390.
I live in MA, where insurance is strictly regulated by the government so even though I was 23 when I got my TT, I had the cheapest possible insurance (step 9).
Unfortunately, I got a speeding ticket a year and a half ago, and last spring I got a ticket for "failing to signal when changing lanes". The first ticket was a "freebie" so it only affected my insurance by one step. But the second one, a $20 dollar ticket, means 3 steps on my insurance. Thats an icrease of $425 per year. The worst part is this will stay with me for 6 years! I'm going to be paying at least $2500 over the next 6 years for this ticket (I'll be step 13)!
My insurance for next year will be $1951.
I'm curious what those who don't live in Taxachusetts pay for their insurance.

Same ballpark (Less than $800, NH and 38)
Though back when I was 20 and bought my Shelby Charger turbo I was paying over $2k with no points. So I guess getting old and married at least pays in some respects.
