Default If you are a step 15 or lower, you are not being surcharged..you are losing a credit...I know it ...

is still $ out of your pocket...but surcharge is 16+. 15 is the starting point. 13 you are still getting a credit.

It still sucks... I know..

Default $1500 yr Boston City, Step 9, no points

But I paid $1400 for my TT & '98 passat for full coverage back in Los Angeles. Boston is a freakin' rip off scam for insurance. And I thought Cali was bad. At least there if I get a ticket I can go to traffic school and keep it off my record. If I had my LA driving record here (without the ability to knock off some SERIOUS speeding offenses through traffic school) I'd be like a step 15.

Default gotta love massachusetts -- i pay about $5K/year ...

for both my s4 an tt combined; it's brutal. the sad part is that my inflated insurance is largely because i didn't bother to get my driver's license until age 22, so at 25 i'm still considered an "inexperienced" driver, which in and of itself is probably true, 'cept that had i gotten my license in high school, i wouldn't have driven until 22 anyway, and in the meantime my step would've come down to a step 9.

morons.

Default thats what I did - got my license at 17 in NY...

and when I got my first car at 23 in MA (my TT) I had already been driving for 6 years so I got the
cheapest possible insurance. In reality, I didn't
own a car for those 6 years, so I didn't really
have 6 years of experience.
