Insurance stalemate situation-need help!>>

Hope it works out
My husband took my Jag out and stopped at a red light. A Lincoln (SC) came barreling down doing 60 mph and hit into a Ford SUV (SC and a lawyer) - which rolled into a Honda (GA) which clipped my car's rear end. The Lincoln had no insurance and was rushed to the hospital. The Ford was mangled and had insurance. The Honda said she had insurance, but she paid with a bounced check so SafeAuto said even if she made it good - she would not be insured for the day she was in the accident.
Nationwide was our carrier at the time, and they gave us the 500 buck deductible and paid the rest.
We were told we could take the Honda to small claims court, but realized she was out her entire car, had no insurance and had no money.
I hated being out the 500 bucks, but it was the best solution.
Good luck with yours.

Generally they won't cancel your policy until you call them, we had a rental...
insurance policy for my son when he was in college. When the new policy came, we just didn't pay it, thinking that would cancel it. But in the fine print the policy is not canceled until we actually notified the insurance company.

Talk to your agent
I also have State Farm, and have been through similar situations. State Farm will cover your repairs, and you'll probably have to pay the deductible. But - they will go after her insurance to recover the cost, including your deductible, so you'll likely get it back. You can get your car fixed now though, and let them worry about who pays for it. Call your agent and talk to them about it.
