Intermittent Cruise Control

Just returned from a road trip from Baltimore to Charlotte. The cruise didn't work on the way down, but worked perfectly on the return trip. Car ran great, 32.9 mpg averaging 71 mph.

Any ideas on this intermittent problem?

Brake light switch is the usual culprit...

I have the same issue- code says cruise control/brake light switch...i have yet to fix it

2nd

Buddy just had this issue (brake lights and cruise control died simultaneously) - new brake light switch fixed it. $4 at VW dealer.
