Default Intermittent oil pressure warning/coolant gauge problems

I've been seeing a problem with the low oil pressure warning coming on (pretty scary), but only when I'm braking going down a hill and then only occasionally. At the same time, the coolant temperature display drops out.

The first two times it happened were just before the car (2001 225 Coupe) went in for 20K service. I'd seen a post last year about this being caused by a faulty temperature sending unit and mentioned that when I dropped the car off. They decided that it was the coolant gauge itself and replaced it. No change.

If anyone else has seen this problem, details on the source would be appreciated. Thanks...

I could go on about this particular dealer and what they charged for what I'd have thought was a 10 or 15 minute job replacing the side mirrors, but we've all heard it before, so...

Default Coolant temp sending unit - mine did the EXACT same thing as did Jenners I believe - after they

replaced it - it's been fine.
