Default Intermittently my car has a VERY difficult time starting....

It will crank just fine, but won't fire. Sometimes it takes 10-15 seconds to get going. Car runs fine, fuel consumption has not changed...

I rarely ever warm start, usually only cold start leaving home or leaving work. It is not consistently worse either at home or at work, but is occurring more frequently (up to 50%) and is taking longer and longer to fire...

Any ideas?

JohnLZ7W - do I recall you having a similar problem solved by replacing your cam position sensor? Wouldn't that affect how the car runs, too, or what is the sensor used for?

Did you replace that old, tired, worn out battery yet?

No, I have not. HOWEVER, it cranks happily for as long as needed in order to start...

Default fuel pump or clogged fuel filter?

I did have problems with the engine speed sensor which wouldn't let the car start but that was a hot start problem. And yes, it did affect how the car ran. When it got too hot the car shut off

Those are a couple good options (especially the filter)...

Default How much fuel in the tank when this happens? -->

The quatrro saddle tank has a pressure build problem below 3/8 tank that progressively gets worse as fuel level drops.

Default You can practice on how the line connects using the fuel line under the hood

behind the coolant tank. It's just a little tab you press in, but it's really hard to see under the car on the fuel filter.

Has not seemed to matter. Also a new problem after 4 (?!) years of ownership.
