anyone know if the iceLink can show any song info on the head unit itself yet? i remember this being mentioned a long time ago when the thing first came out. or any suggestions on a better ipod interface?

if you hook it up through the cd changer connector you can use the forward and back botton on the headunit to switch songs on the ipod. the display in the headunit shows as cd # and tr #.

there is still no headunit display, except for the cd and track numbers. Album play from the random switch doesn't work. Updates are getting easier to install, but overall not what they promised originally. Sounds good though. My advice is save your money til they actually get it to work right.

TUgh, it really pisses me off to find out that there are legal issues in the way of this kind of a thing.
I am pretty shocked to hear how complex this is. I seriously would think it would be pretty easy to atleast read the ID3 tags of the song that is playing and have them display on the headunit.
I'd be interested in hearing some more about what is really being outputted (sp?) to the screen in the iPod itself (to understand this 2 protocol concept)
