Default I've got a real wheel problem. I can't get my new wheels on...........

Just got my new 8.5x18 5zigen/Fn01r-c wheels. That's the good news. when I tried to mount the wheels in the front with the 15mm spacers and the 43mm "long" bolts supplied by ECS, the bolts would not fit into the tapered wheel holes. The holes are just too small for the bolts. So I cussed ECS for supplying me with fat bolts. So I then tried the 28mm "short" bolts supplied by EdgeRacing with the wheels. What the &$%#. they don't fit either. So I cussed ER for also supplying me with fat bolts. Next I tried the OEM bolts that came with my "phat six" wheels and they don't fit either. It's NOT the bolts it's the %&#%@#* wheels. The holes are just not big enough. I never thought that I'd complain about a tight fit but this is ridiculous.
Has anyone else had this problem. I know that both RoberTT & AdminisTerTurbo have the same wheels (except in the 7.5" width). Did your bolts fit.
What can I do short of sending the wheels back or finding a machine shop to ream out the holes.

Default Don't touch them. Send them back. 14mm is what you should've gotten.....

and it sounds like they sent 12mm holes

Default YOu need "Tuner" lugs....>>

12mm instead of 14. There are conversion kits. Not uncommon with certain wheels...do a search..

Default You're absolutely right. I just went out and measured them and they are 12 mm

They're going back in the morning. And I hate to send them back cause they are so puuurdy, and I've been waiting since March 8 when I first put in the order. The only thing I don't like about them is that at 8.5" wide the 225/40R18 tires don't fill them. The wheels bulge out beyond the tires and the tire's wheel protector doesn't work. Since I have to send them back anyway, should I go with 245/40R18 tires, which have a recommended wheel width of 8.5". The only problem I see is that the 245's are 25.7" in diamater relative to the 25" for the original tires.

Default Did a search and still have problems........

All of the tuner bolts that I found so far are not long enough (I need 28+15=43mm long front bolts) to fit my front wheels with 15mm spacers. Also, I don't understand how a 12mm bolt that fits through the wheel holes will bolt into my 14mm hubs. Please explain that one to me.

Default The 235 has a 25.5" D and the 245 has a 25.7" D, almost tha same.....

that's why I would prefer the 245 to make sure it fits the wheel better. I got these numbers from the Falken website and they do seem funky to me. I would have expected a greater diameter difference between the two.

Default

except for the fact that the bolt doesn't fit the hole, there is no difference.
