brand and part number (if possible) they used for a replacement in a 2001 TT Roadster-not a coupe. Want a drop in replacement it at all possible. Why the hell does the box have to be different than the coupe-oh, because that would make things too easy.

PS: please don't beat me for asking this question-again.

Optima Red Top 35 fits in the 2001 Roadster, w/o modification.

Default I bought a drop in at O'Rielly yesterday for $55. Its about an inch shorter, but the same

front to back and side to side. the factory "mitten" fit perfectly.

Also, I didn't have to reprogram my Bose! I turned the key and it worked perfectly.

Sweet!

Default Sears International fits perfectly in a roadster. For some reason, Audi spec'd the roadster as less

CCA (Cold Cranking Amps)
thats the size diff.

You might want to try Advance Auto... if theres a location in your area.

Also when you pick up your Optima, you'll see included two red plastic spacers which some cars require to mount the battery....

Didn't need them in my 2001 TTR.

Don't forget you will probably need to write down the radio codes, and may have to work the key and window issue when you disconnect the current battery.

Have fun!
