Jetta Variant faster than 225 TT? I just had an interesting email exchange with a guy that
says so. His friend with the 225TT emailed me, too as did another friend with an S2000 that says he regularly gets spanked by the JettaWagen.
I know racing and 0-60's are meaningless but I thought it was interesting. Too bad I don't know any 225 owners in Jax. I am not even going to race my own TT. 3 people already agree my Jetta Wagon is faster.
I should have those stock Jetta Wagon dynos later today showing 180HP at the wheels.
My point? My point is that in context of the larger product group VAG is making some interesting power decisions per model. Does anyone know if the latest 180 TT's have the AWP motor?

Totally disagree, what do I know only had the Jetta GLX for 3 years ;-p
you've been saying on and off that your TT 225 is not that fast. Either there's something wrong with your TT or your right foot. I say someone in Cali go check out your TT. its too fast of a color to act slow!

As someone who's owned a 95 Jetta GLX VR6 and a 00 GTI GLX VR6 - I can honestly say that
there is no way in hell they are faster than a 225TT. The best 0-60's ever pulled with an A3 or A4 VR6 are 6.8 seconds with a 15.2 quarter mile. My GTI was slightly faster than my Jetta but both weighed just about 2900lbs. However, let me say i've only driven a 225 TT Roadster once though - but I know my TT in its current form of tune is faster overall than either of my two VR6 VW's. I will say though - the VR6 has way more character than any 1.8T I've ever driven and not worrying about DV's, N75 valves, boost leaks and such is one of the advantages to the VR6.
