Default I plotted HP Torque curves that run up to 7800rpm on your spread sheat and got such strage results

...that I think you should take another look at it. As to Purdue, I did talk to then but won't get anything until fall, long story. I would really like to not get into an ungy back and forth with you again so at the risk of doing exactly that...99% of what you said in your 1st post was correct, you wording was perhaps not the best. In one post you said that for max acc. you need to shift so that you are @ hp max in the next gear, which is wrong. I think I could go on with a long replay of what happened but don't think it will be wise at this time. We can have an OK relationship on this board or not, I guess I'll wait to see how you respond and go from there. JIM

Can you post or point to the spreadsheet with your figures?

Default Put the link up again...what I did was place a HP peak at arounf 7800 and a torque peek at

...about 6000rpm and I got a shift point of around 3600 in first which I know you would not argee with. Can you just plug somes #s in along this same line and see what you get? JIM

Default Updated spreadsheet...

I didn't make any formula changes, just plugged in a set of new torque figures.

1-2 shift occurs about 8000 in first, shifting to about 4500 in second.

are you sure you weren't shifting _to_ 3500 in second?

Updated spreadsheet (save target as... to d/l and save)

Default I'm not sure of anything right now, got rear ended buy a US mail truck in my A4, thank god it wasn't

..The TT (I'm fine BTW). I hope you see this and respond because I'm tracking the tread and will then be able to get back to it so I can try out the spread sheat (can't do it now) too stressed, plus we have bank auditors here. I do think I owe you an apology, not over facts, as wording is so critiacl, but rather in the way I responded to your original post. That is when you said I was arguing with Newton; that just made me angry and I was already having a bad day. What followed should have be an even-tempered discussion of the subject but turned into mass confusion and ugliness. I have criticized people on this forum for being too abrupt with newcomers and I do feel I gave you half a chance. Anyway, it is clear that you have brains and can add a lot here (just don't bring my Mother into it) so long as you are willing to be flexible enough not to let other's comments set you off. And by the way, their tendency to do so may be due to a bias against you at this point. We all like TTs here and I think we need to burry the hatchet. We can also resume taking about HP etc. and making it beneficial for everyone, or we can talk about my favorite subject, the combustion chamber. Olive branch extended. JIM
