Default Details from PalerSport 'Motorsport Sensation 2000' brochure...

All the details below are from the brochure (available from PalmerSport 01403 733999). I have no connection with the company, I am just trying to round up enough suspects. Let me know if you are interested.

All cars are supplied by PalmerSport :

Audi S3
Audi TT 225Q (MKII +ESP)
Formula Audi single seater
Lotus Elise Sport 135
Caterham 7 Superlight
Honda Integra type R
Toyota Land Cruiser (Off Road)

For all of the above drives (except the single seater and off road), the instructor briefs you on technique and racing lines etc. then takes you round for a demonstration lap. Then you take over and the instructor sits in for several laps. Each lap is timed and displayed in-car so you can monitor your progress.

To provide 'continual action' the following amusements are also available :

Thunderkarts (light weight 13BHP twin engined karts on a new 400m outdoor kart track. Karts also have on board display of lap-times)

Drive 400BHP Man truck
Tour of Formula Audi workshop
(you'll find me on the kart track, but these are available if desired)

Bedford autodrome opened in Autumn 1999 on a 400 acre sight. It consists of 5 acres of new ashpalt track split into 4 cicuits with no spectator crash barriers (just wide run off areas) There are no speed limits and for some events overtaking is allowed.

Schedule :

8:00 Arrival, registration and breakfast
8:45 Briefing
9:30 - 12:30 Morning session
12:45 Lunch
13:45 - 16:45 Afternoon session
17:00 Tea and awards
17:45 Depart

It's the new Screwpull Elegance Professional model which is made by Le Creuset. I believe that the original Screwpull is/was in the N.Y. Museum of Modern Art, but I like this one even better.

Dark blue resin with dimpled aluminum. It opens a bottle of wine in a couple of seconds, including removal of the cork from the opener itself. Not cheap though, retails for about $220, though you can get it on the net for around $150.

Default If anyone is interested in buying one of these...

The best price that you will likely find, is on Ebay right now. These openers have a retail of $230 (I said $220 before), and prices above $200 are common. Internet Wine Co(?) is selling something like 6 of these on Ebay with a starting bid of $120. So far, only 1 person had bid on them.

Default Be careful - I've been using an original screwpull for about 2 years. It works great, but ....

my corkscrew skills have gone to absolute hell. I even broke a cork using a normal corkscrew last weekend. Very embarrassing!
