for a day or two. You can drive as fast or as slow around it as you want to all day long with no other cars to deal with... BYOH (helmet). Great sightseeing and plenty local accomodations/entertainment and things to do/see.
Only Kansas is more centrally located but their ammenities are somewhat austere by comparison.
Whatta you mean "we've mostly seen every type of TT under the sun (except for Mance's)"??? You've seen mine. Its the little black number with the tasteful wheels. Wanna drive it doncha! Well get yer *** out here!

Get Audi to participate in some way. Hospitality room, new models on display, or better yet new models to drive at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.... now that would get my attention...<p><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/akracttq.jpg" border="0">

Lodging is very cheap in Dallas compared to some of the other suggestions in the thread. Plus there are a gazillion things to do in Dallas.
Houston was mentioned somewhere, too. While it is also a hub, its not for as many airlines and (as much as I love Houston) it's not a great tourist city. Dallas has all the "fun stuff for tourists".

Rooms, particularly mid-week are low priced and if one doesn't mind buffet lines that too will not break the budget..<p><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/akracttq.jpg" border="0">

Based upon extensive flying experience, the major airline hubs appear to be able to give the best rates: Chicago, Dallas/Ft.Worth, LAX, Atlanta, and then there are medium (rate) hub cities: Denver, Minneapolis,to name what immediately springs out.
The idea is nice, Brad, and everyone has their own ideas regarding this, I am sure. I would opt for consideration that NOT ONLY places cheap travel in the equation for a MAJORITY of those who COULD (not would) participate, but that it tie itself around an EVENT of some sort taking place.
BTW, it is NOT cheap NOR convenient to fly into Albuquerque from anywhere...however, we do host the largest hot air balloon fiesta and most photographed event in the entire world the first two weeks of October. It draws several million (adding to congestion, etc.) and the rooms are booked in advance (and scalping does take place). But what a sight to see for those in the region who may want to check this event out.
I would consider doing background to check on a group rate for this...not touting my "home turf" necessarily for any other reason than "you gotta see this once in your life." (I would rather go someplace I have never been). Just my thought.<p><a href="http://members.tripod.com/abqnmsteve/the_audi_tt.htm"><img src="http://members.aol.com/stevestt/myhomepage/stevesttr1.jpg" border="0" alt="Click and go to my Audi web page"></a><ul><li><a href="http://www.aibf.org">http://www.aibf.org</a</li></ul>
