Just replaced filter with after market panel filter and the car revs quicker. Next is the colonoscopy and we'll see how the K04 likes free breathing and exit. I'm very surprised with a perceptible difference in throttle response with such a simple mod.

Default BMC. $110 procured in Germany by a friend. 159/01 part#. How come you guys...

don't use this filter? Is there a U.S. source for it? I tried to get links to U.S. source a couple weeks ago, but nothing came back. This filter is used as stock install in many supercars.

"How come you guys...don't use this filter?"

I have no idea, sounds so easy to get ... Note to self, call all friends in Germany to get more parts ...

There has been some talk about K&N filters, but I haven't heard of this one. I'd like to know more.

Default I put them in my Boxsters and my 911, Some guy MMD coordinated a group purchase...

on the Boxster Board. I guess the fitration rate is 2 microns compared to 5 microns of the K&N. The BMC is supposed to have a higher flow rate(99 1/4%) as well, but it is still cotton pressed in metal mesh. This filter comes stock from the factory in all GT3's and Porsche is more **** about their cars than Audi. I figure it is the best. Since they're made in Italy, they come in many Ferrari's and Lambo's as well. I think they even come in McClaren F1's.

If they flow better than K&N, why does Porsche use K&N on the GT3R & RS's, just asking...

Whenever I see pictures or watch on TV it shows K&N cones, at least that's what they look like.
