That some have referred to. Last place! Wow, they were pretty brutal. Every other car got 90 something points compared to the TT's 86. It will be interesting to see if they have better things to say about the new 3.2.

Some quotes:

"Audi's answer to the T-Bird"

"Handling gets iffy when you hustle, as do the brakes and the turbo breathes in asthmatic wheezes"

"No question, the look is flawless. It's also skin-deep"

"...it's just pleasing enough to loft the TT up to a solid fifth (last) place. We can't go higher for a cutie that doesn't dance"

"The TT never feels the sports-car music, just as the Ford Thunderbird doesn't and the Buick Reatta and the Cadillac Allante never did"

"...it can't begin to keep up with the others here"

"Sports cars have a sort of Reebok sure-footed quickness about them that is completely absent in the TT"

"...Golf togged out in designer duds"

"It's always a step behind the beat"

"The test numbers are all tail enders for this group"

"The brakes never measure up in feel, either, nor does the power delivery"

Default just an example of how things have moved on over the last 3yrs

unfortunatley for us, the TT hasn't. Don't get me wrong, love mine etc etc but right now if I had to do it again there is way more choice out there.

Even with the 3.2 they are pinning things on the tranny (DSG) they need to up the ante on this beast and asap

Default Agreed...

Though aftermarket brakes and suspension help a lot, we shouldn't have to do that to turn it into a righteous sports car.

A lot of the things they complained about *may* be improved by the 3.2 (stiffer suspension, fatter anti-roll bars, more linear power, a bit more output, uprated brakes, etc).

I would have liked to see a bit more as well.

Default What a load of crap!

This reviewer definitely has some TT issues. No, the TT is not a 911 turbo, but it was never meant to be. From the rumors and concepts that we've seen, among them the Nuvolari, Audi will definitely catch up, and they'll do it very well. The fact is the TT is an awesome car despite a lack of power. To write things like, "the turbo breathes in asthmatic wheezes" and "Sports cars have a sort of Reebok sure-footed quickness about them that is completely absent in the TT" shows this guy has not really done his homework. And as for sure-footedness - HELLO! Quattro! Ah, **** 'em.

Default There is some truth in some of the comments, but they are *far* too harsh...

The TT is a fun sports car. To compare it to a T-Bird or Reatta is horse ****. Suspension mods do transform the car. Again, some comments are valid, but the reviewer certainly does have some TT issues.
