Yeah when I was in Frankfurt I saw them take a 6'' ceramic commando knif off some guy...very
scary cause ceramics dont show up on metal detectors..he had it taped to his leg underneath his pants...makes you wonder

Changed Midwest Express meal service...
Midwest Express airlines has long been known for their sumptuous meal service featuring <i>real food</i> served on real china.
No more - they couldn't come to an agreement with the FAA on the knife issue, so instead of a mini-steak or some such, they will now until further notice only serve beverages and their chocolate chip cookies...

Probably LCD glass...
Several hip restaurants have bathroom doors made of LCD glass; the glass goes from transparent to translucent at the flick of a switch (tied in these bathrooms to the "lock.")
When these were first introduced there were several tales of customers going about their "business" who thought the glass was instead a one-way mirror; whoops.

I remember the first time I forgot to pack my Swiss Army Knife in my suitcase...
I had it in my pocket, and not wanting to cause trouble specifically asked about it and was quoted the (then) 4" rule. I thought to myself then "I could cause an awful lot of injuries with my little pocket knife" and just felt weird that it was perfectly OK...
Then again, all this is silly, as a razor blade can easily be concealed in one's shoe, and there's no way a metal detector will go off for that small a piece of metal...
