Porsche? How do you figure? Stylistically and conceptually it is
<center><img src="http://www.vw-store.com/Images/Autostadt/Autostadt%20Displays-12.jpg"></center><p>supposedly inspired by the car above, an Auto Union race car from the 1930s. Auto Union also eventually became one of the companies that made up Audi.
In terms of the name, well, there's the Isle of Man TT race, and NSU (another company that was rolled into Audi) used to have car that bore the name TT.

I used to own a number of 356s and the view from the inside is nearly identical. I would have thought that the fairings on the Lemans car would be obvious as an inspiration for the designer. ;-)
