Default if the o2 sensor is working>>>>

the next thing to check would be if waynes angle block is secured to the pipe....a slight leak there could generate an error. Check all the fittings....IF they are loose, it will rattle a bit too in my experience

When i had my hi-flow cat, i had lots of issues try to get rid of the CEL on that sensor and was not able to get it to clear even with Waynes adapter. My solution was to use spark plug extenders to get the o2 sensor further out of the flow. It took 3 adapters, but eventually worked and is probably still working on RoadyTT's car.

It is possible that your car is falls into this category. The nice part is that those plug adapters are cheap....i think 10$ for all 3 IIRC.

Currently i am running the 3" DP with a straightpipe and Waynes adapter without issue.

Default Info...>

On the Mini, OX2 seems to cycle through the same range as OX1: 10-90

Default Thank you TTinCT. I'll give those a try......

Everything down there is nice and tight. Did you add the extenders to Wayne's adapter or did you remove the adapter and use the extenders by themselves.
I like using Wayne's adapter because the sensor fits nicely next to the pipe instead of sticking out like a sore thumb waiting for something to knock it off.

Default That's really interesting, because I would have expected to see.....

lower readings in the Ox2 sensor after reactions in the cat. My Ox2 readings are lower than my Ox1 readings by a factor of two, or more. I would attribute this to Wayne's fitting which gets my Ox2 out of the stream. So it seems that it's working.
I'm going out for a while to take readings and see what happens. I'll let you know.

Default The computer expects...>>

The rate of change to be different on the rear sensor. This is one reason the spacers and angle blocks are used. Otherwise the Rate of change, being similar to the front 02 which it's compared to, interprets this as a bad CAT.

As Hans pointed out, getting just the right ratio between front and rear with a high flow CAT is a bit of a juggling act which may take some experimenting..

If you did bang up the sensor though, I'd replace it..

Default I did not mix the two solutions>>>>

although it is possible.....with Waynes being stainless and the spark plug adapters are not...mixing metalurgy MAY be issue.............

20k at least on my old setup and never an issue...but it is a valid concern...

Default if you have APR they've got a fix that might help too

their "test pipe patch" developed for the stg III and III+ big turbo kits can be installed with stg II (91, 93, 100 octane) programming, on request. Designed to de-sensitize the post cat, it can be helpful with a car that has Wayne's block or "extensions" and still codes

Default I do have APR stgII (93). Do I have to take the car to them ......

to get the "test pipe patch" installed or is that something I can do myself with the Vag-Com or whatever.

That sounds like the real deal for me.

Thanks Russ,
