Default Keep having to replace camshaft position sensor 16730

I've had 4 camshaft position sensors go bad in the last four years or less.

2004 Audi TT 3.2
Current codes are 16730, 16395, 18613

Other than very bad luck, why would the sensors fail in less than a year after being installed, repeatedly?

Any ideas as to what could be making the sensors bad? After replaced, the car runs fine for 1,000-10,0000 miles and then the sensor fails again.
