I use both a blade and a synth chamois...
First the blade takes about 95% of the water off the car quickly. Then I go over it with the synth to get the rest. This is much faster IMHO.

With the silicon blade, far less friction is required to remove the water...
minimizing wax removal as well. If is also faster I agree, but only safer on a hand washed car.

Exactly! - not made in China scratches, but seriously a towel may trap dirt on surface better than
chamois - which sucks up against paint - or a blade, which will drag dirt against suface
